The Monson Law Firm would like to recognize and honor a dear friend of the insurance industry, Michael Casey Lane. Mike passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the age of 71. Mike was the founder of Lane and Associates, Inc. and served as president for almost 30 years. He was involved with many insurance organizations, including serving as President of the Louisiana Surplus Lines Association, the New Orleans Chapter of the Professional Insurance Agents and the Deep South Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Society. In 2014, he was inducted into the Young Insurance Professionals of Louisiana Hall of Fame. Mike served his country as a Captain in the United States Army Chemical Corps. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne division where he was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service during the Vietnam War. He also received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device and Army Commendation Medal. He was an Expert Flamethrower and Sharpshooter with a Rifle. Thank you Mike for your service to our country and the insurance industry you will be deeply missed.
