Butch T. Mathenia is originally from Springfield, Missouri. Butch Mathenia moved to Florida in 2014. Butch also served in the US Army where he received numerous awards including the Bronze Star Medal, Director of National Intelligence Award for work on Classified Projects, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, NATO Afghanistan Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, as well as other numerous awards and distinctions.

Butch brings over 13 years of intelligence collection and analysis experience and 7 years of Insurance Defense experience. He has defended Florida insurance carriers in breach of contract matters and obtained summary judgment, dismissals, and sanctions against plaintiffs for bringing or maintaining frivolous claims.

Outside of work, Butch enjoys spending time with his family at the beach, riding motorcycles, volunteering with veteran focused organizations, and serves on the Board of Advisors for the Epsilon-Beta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon at the University of Tampa. Whether in conducting discovery or providing outside-the-box solutions to our client’s legal issues, Butch’s military intelligence background combined with his litigation experience provides the firm with a unique toolset and serves as an asset to the firm and clients.
