John Carter

John (“JC”) is well seasoned in first-party property damages claims, primarily in the field of flood insurance. This includes being lead counsel on several hundred lawsuits in over twenty States on behalf of several Write-Your-Own National Flood Insurance Program carriers. In addition, JC has successfully defended insurance adjusters and adjusting companies. JC has presented and lectured on the National Flood Insurance Program. Further, JC is experienced in civil RICO matters, whistleblower claims, civil rights litigation, municipal disputes, and land disputes. He is the former outside General Counsel to the Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police and a former Special Assistant Attorney General for State of Louisiana in which he represented both public entities and employees. He is a public speaker and an instructor for continuing legal education classes on civil rights, municipal law, and police liability issues.
