Attorney Blake Lusk won a Motion for Summary Judgment in the case of Deborah R. Coleman v. Capitol Preferred Insurance Company, Inc., et al, in the Justice of the Peace Court for the Parish of Jefferson. In the Judgment signed by the Court on November 20, 2017, the Honorable Charles Cusimano, II dismissed all claims filed by Deborah Coleman, with prejudice. On the morning of trial, the Court agreed that Debora Coleman’s claims were not covered under the Capital Preferred Policy and her claims were without merit. Attorney Blake Lusk won a Motion for Summary Judgment in the case of John Mosbey and Roe Mosbey v. Lighthouse Property Insurance Corporation, in the 24^th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson. In the Judgment signed by the Court on December 11, 2017, the Honorable Donald A. Rowan, Jr., dismissed the bad faith claims filed by plaintiffs with prejudice. The Court agreed that Lighthouse acted in good faith in its handling of plaintiffs’ claim.  This is yet another successful Bad Faith Motion for Summary Judgment won by our firm!  Please click here  to view a copy of the judgment.

The Monson Law Firm attended the Northshore Claims Association’s Christmas luncheon at Bosco’s in Mandeville. Each year the NSCA selects a charity to give to for Christmas and this year we chose to give our $750.00 donation to James Storehouse for Christmas! From cribs to college, James Storehouse supports children in foster care and those aging-out of foster care by providing resources that will ease transitions and improve living conditions. The Monson Law Firm attended the Risk Management Society’s Christmas Luncheon at Commanders Palace in New Orleans. This year for Christmas RIMS gave a donation to St. Michael Special School! For over 50 years, St. Michael Special School has educated students ages six through adulthood with special needs (i.e. those with mild, moderate, and severe disabilities, including autism, ADHD, developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, multiple disabilities, and other health impaired). The school is unique in that it provides for the development of the whole child—academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually—regardless of his or her disability. Happy Columbus Day from The Monson Law Firm! Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the Americas on October 12, 1492. It was unofficially celebrated in a number of cities and states as early as the 18th century, but did not become a federal holiday until 1937.
